London, England – Houses of Parliament
For many, the Big Ben – the clock tower as it is commonly and erroneously known (it is actually the name of the bell inside) – is the most iconic image of London. A symbol of the Houses of Parliament, reminiscent of the debate in the rooms below, where 646 members and more than 700 bishops and Gentlemen loudly carry on the business of government. The nation expects to find midnight on December 31 to celebrate the start of each new year. Protesters against the state occasionally try to climb the 96m (315 feet) – and sometimes succeed.
Another name for the Parliament, the Palace of Westminster, alludes to the complex history of British democracy that has evolved over the centuries by the dominant domain of tribal chiefs, royalty and the Church in a government of elected representatives of the people. Thus, the medieval building that stood on the site until the 19th century, in which they were made the basis of the modern system of Edward I’s Model Parliament of 1295 was also the headquarters of British monarchs until 1530.
Survived the Gunpowder Plot in 1605 by a group of Catholics intent on blowing up the Protestant King James I in the Palace of Westminster was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1834. Westminster Hall, which dates back to 1097, has survived and is the oldest part of the building today.
William IV offered Buckingham Palace as a replacement, but the Parliament wanted to hang at the site of major river that William the Conqueror had made his base of nearly 800 years ago. Public debate on what the style should be used for the new building has been fierce. It should be a fitting emblem of a country with an empire on which “the sun never sets.” A neo-classical design, such as the White House or the U.S. Congress, was excluded because of connotations of revolutionary or a republican. In 1836, after studying 98 proposals, a Royal Commission chose Charles Barry’s plan for a Gothic palace that embody a welcome dose of conservatism.
Democracy in Britain has started to come of age in 1918 when the vote was given to all men 21 and women over 30, if women had to wait 10 years for equal rights. Even now continues to grow: in Tony Blair’s premiership, the power has been devolved to Scotland, Wales and Northem Ireland in 1999, while the shape of the Second Chamber, the House of Lords, is unstable.
UK residents can arrange free guided tours of Parliament for the whole year through their MP or a gentleman, visitors from abroad have to pay and can only tour during the summer when Parliament is in session, but may participate in discussions throughout the year. Both tours last about 75 minutes and includes the Houses of Commons and Lords debating, as well as the Queen’s Robing Room. The official opening of Parliament, where the reigning monarch presents the government’s plans for members of both the House of Lords and Commons, is a colorful ceremony usually takes place in November.

Imperial Palace – Emperor’s Buffet
This restaurant reflects the tone and the ‘value’ of the whole village. E ‘base through and through. Some say it’s a good value for money, especially if you are staying at the hotel (and in this case you can also receive a coupon upon check in), some say the best meal you can enjoy here is the first breakfast. Well, we went and explored, ate and drank here and this is what we found:
Environment: A bit ‘sad, once you actually manage to find’, which is located upstairs, through a labyrinth-like. And ‘quite dark inside (the decoration tends to be the dark-side) and outside (input) and not in a nicely atmospheric, but rather in an awkward and “old” and then when you sit at the table, lit by fluorescent light of the type that hardens the experience rather than softening it. Tables and chairs are basic, but all cabins are obviously very comfortable. In terms of size, is one of the small size, but then so is the most popular and certainly the Flamingo (gourmet more) small Caesar’s Palace (we mention these because they are still part of the group of Caesar). Thus, size-wise, you will not be disappointed if you are already used for some other group of Caesar’s (formerly Harrah’s).
Food: average basis. Nothing here is great, but then of course this reflects the low price tag (down to the Strip, if we include the average prices of downtown Vegas.) When we went we were still pleasantly surprised by the artichokes in the salad: marinated artichokes are very expensive (and are a delicacy) and here were freely available. We had signs and this delicious food! Other than that, everything else offers a dining experience you forget and do not necessarily want to repeat.
Breakfast (or, rather, ‘brunch’) seems to be the most popular, partly because the guests at this hotel and casino will probably want to eat here when you wake up in part because it is convenient and quite cheap, and the fact that if all you’re looking for sausages, bacon, omelets made-to-order scrambled eggs and you will find them here and will not be disappointed. It ‘also nice to think that, having brunch instead of breakfast only, you will find a few other options that allow you to actually have a full meal.
But then, just remember that it is the quality of the food that counts and even if the quality is the key for you, very few of the most economical choices to meet your expectations. Of the cheapest Vegas’s best options are offered by Main Street Station and Golden Nugget (but then these are the center!).
In this restaurant you will find cheap strip the quintessence of the carving stations and other meat, a relatively large Asian station, a base station seafood salad. Among their ‘top’ and pork dishes are the first Baron of Beef, Herb Roasted Pork Loin, Grilled Short Ribs, Seared tuna and salmon in the oven. Some of these dishes will be available only for dinner only more expensive, of course.
Three days a week have a theme dinner, as is the price the Hawaiian people with a little ‘traditional’ Hawaiian dishes.
Their dessert section is relatively small and nothing special and so are the rest of their sections. All in all, as summarized at the beginning, this place is fundamental to the media. Unless you stay at the Imperial Palace is unlikely that you will want to walk to this station, which is already awkwardly behind some shops in the Strip, and then walk all the way to this restaurant. Perhaps if you have any coupons and you stay in the area (and you’re on a tight budget), this might be a good option for you. There are easy ways to find good restaurants for most of the Strip.
