A visit to Las Vegas is never complete without a visit to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. While there are separate trips to Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam exclusive tour, you can combine trips to save some money and a lot of time. Guided tours can be useful if the visit is the first time, so that they do not miss anything. If you are returning to the west, the bus leaves the Lodge Maswik at 6:15 pm and arrives at the Flagstaff Amtrak station at 8:00 pm, which is about an hour before the departure of head southwest.
Coming from the east, again, is less convenient. Upon arrival late in the evening in Flagstaff, you will probably want to book a hotel room before taking the 08:00 departure described above. Back east, you may also want to rent a hotel room in Flagstaff as the train leaves in the morning.
Three: You can book a rental car for maximum flexibility. Since Amtrak arrivals and departures in the area are not doing the normal business hours, you should rent from an airport structure, which has extended hours. Your best bet is to find such a facility by the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. Check with the car rental agency to see if it can be picked up at the train station, or if you need to take a taxi to get there.
Four: If you really want to go to the North Rim and do not have a car, there is a bus service Transcanyon. The service leaves the South Rim at 1:30 pm and arrives at the North Rim 4 hours and a half later. The return bus leaves the North Rim at 7:00 am. Obviously, the service module runs only from mid May to mid-October, when the North Rim is open.

One of the most ancient and most interesting to see the Grand Canyon is the Grand Canyon Railway.
